The Card Concept #49

cc-49-kerin-sylvesterHi stamping friends 🙂 It’s time for a new challenge at The Card Concept and this week we’ve got an amazingly Spring-y photo to inspire us. Oh how I wish we could see some flowers like this for real right now! New England winters are harsh, let me tell you! Just look at those flowers and colors!:

I chose an oldie but goodie set from Flourishes (Did you know they’ve re-opened?!?! Yay!) called Garden Picks. It popped into my mind right away when I saw this picture because of the jar. I find getting the clear look of a jar tricky coloring, do you? I colored my stems as normal (YG03, YG05, YG09), then added some Colorless Blender on top to kind of wash out the color, like it might be looking through the glass or water.

The background was created with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. The rest of the flowers were colored with Copics also: Y21, Y17, R43, R46, R02, R05

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’ll make time to join us this week!

  1. There is SO much to love about this card, Kerin! Everything about it is so amazing – -the color, the watercolor, the background, the jars — just beautiful detail and design!
    Take care!
