Sketch Challenge Week #28

Good Thursday morning! I am having so much fun with the new Shimmer Paints that will be in the Holiday Mini, available NEXT TUESDAY! Wow it's almost time!! Yesterday when I was getting this sketch ready, I put some rubbing alcohol in a mini spray bottle (as I was pouring the rubbing alcohol into the bottle, the memories of getting my ears pierced as a little girl came rushing back…I guess that's about the only reason to like the scent of rubbing alcohol!). Anyway, I put in a couple of drops of the Champagne Shimmer Paint, shook it up, and sprayed each layer of paper I was going to apply to my card. I love the effect! It reminds me of when we used to use PearlEx in hairspray, but a lot less sticky!

Please see the note below, and then join in the sketch challenge!

Unfortunately I will be taking a break from hosting sketch challenges after this week. I'm headed back to work tomorrow, and with the boys in school, sports and all of that craziness, along with LOTS of other stamping projects I'm working on, I'm going to have to put the sketch challenges on the back burner for a while

BUT, here's the good news…as our last hoorah for a while, I thought I'd offer an extra special prize, a brand new set of Stampin' Up! Pastels ($24.95 value)! You can do SO many things with pastels, you'll be sure to get lots of use out of them!

Here are the details:
Anyone can enter, the more the merrier!! For each sample that you create, and you post either on your blog or on Splitcoast and you link back to this post, you will receive one entry into the drawing. ***If
you do not have a working link back to this post either on your blog or
on SCS, you will not be entered in the drawing and your entry will be
removed from the comments section of my blog.

If you're posting to Splitcoast, you can use the keyword SPGSC28,
then everyone can search for all entries at once! (stands for Stamps,
Paper, Glitter Sketch Challenge 28)…the number at the end will change
each week.

This challenge will remain open until next Wednesday night at 8 pm,
and the winner will be drawn that night.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love the look of your paper. Great card.
How much alcohol did you use and how much shimmer paint? Thanks for letting us know.

  2. ***For the alcohol/shimmer paint combo, I used a 1 oz. mini spray bottle, about 1/3 full and I added two drops from the shimmer paint bottle***
    Hope that helps!

  3. awesome sketch challenge and card to match! always love what you do 🙂 Now, if only I can find the time to copy the sketch- after all, you’ve done the hard work by creating the sketch!!! Hope going back to work wasn’t too hard 🙂
