Last night I held my new catalog kickoff party, and it was a fun time! We had make-n-takes, shown below…
Recipe: Stamp Sets: Petal Pizzazz, Fundamental Phrases Ink: Regal Rose, Basic Black Paper, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Whisper White, Tea Party dsp Accessories: Scallop Punch, White taffeta ribbon, 2-way glue pen & DD glitter, dimensionals
They could choose to make either of these butterfly cards. Here's the shocker, NO stamping! Oh my! The butterflies are from the new Big Shot die, and we just adhered on different beads for the center. The paper is Bella Birds dsp, both cards have Bordering Blue, one with Vanilla and one with Pink Pirouette. The ribbons are Very Vanilla or the white one from the new Dress Up Ribbon Originals.
We also had games (like this Valentine's jar…each of the girls guess how many candy hearts in the jar, closest without going over won a prize) There were 549 hearts in there!
We played a couple of other games too, but of course I forgot to take pictures so I'll just tell you…we played the left/right game…all the girls gathered in a big circle, and I gave 3 people prizes, then I read a short story and every time I said "left" they passed to the left, every time I said "right" they passed to the right and the person holding the prize at the end of the story won. That was fun!
Another fun game we played was the jelly bean game. Each of the girls took 5 jelly beans (they were not happy about the not eating them part, right girls!?!), and they had no idea that they would get (or take away) points depending on what color they picked! Highest points won a prize.
Last but not least was a memory game. I filled up a big tray with LOTS of Stampin' Up! products. I left it on the table uncovered for 2 minutes, then covered it up and they had 4 minutes to write down as many items from the tray as they could. We had a 3-way tie of 19 items remembered, wow that's a LOT!
Of course there were favors for everyone that attended, and I'm going to show you how to make them here too! There's a candy bar inside, but you don't need to unwrap it, you just pull the ribbon and the candy bar slides out the side!
These are so simple, and cute…just start out with a piece of 6×6 card stock or dsp. I used the new Sale-a-Bration paper pack, called Delicate Dots. The one I'm going to show you below uses the new Tea Party dsp. I thought it would be cute for Valentine's day.
Score your 6×6" card stock at 2-1/2", 2-3/4", 5-1/4" and 5-1/2".
Apply sticky strip (but don't remove the backing yet) to the long 1/2" piece.
Punch a hole in the "front" and "back" of the end of the wrapper.
Put a piece of ribbon through the hole that will be under your candy bar, then lay the candy bar on top. Then leave enough ribbon so it will go out the other end of the wrapper and be able to be tied. (approx 20-22" long). I'll let you in on a little mistake I made…do NOT use thick ribbon, or you won't be able to slide your candy bar in and out…yup, I had to re-make about 8 of these because I used the new So Saffron SAB ribbon!
Put the ribbon through the hold on the other side, from the inside out.
Remove the red sticky strip backing and adhere the sides together, then flip over and tie! Now you'll be able to just pull the ribbon and the candy bar will be pulled out!
Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget tomorrow is the beginning of Sale-a-Bration! You get a free SAB item with each $50 purchase, a free set for signing up to be a demo, plus the starter kit is 15% off too! Woohooooo!
