Mini Backpack

Have you seen these mini backpacks everywhere lately? They're so adorable, and I started seeing them about 2 weeks ago, and I've kept it in the back of my mind to try…well today was the day! I got the pattern from SUDSOL, which is a demonstrator site that you can subscribe to. There are lots of talented ladies there, one of which is Becky Roberts, who developed this smaller version (I guess the original design came from SCS and it was bigger, I haven't seen it though)…

Let me begin by saying the picture (at least to me) is very deceptive! I had no idea by looking at it that the whole thing was only about  3×4"!! What a cute little item to make for a teacher, tuck a gift card inside for Christmas perhaps? I think I'm onto my holiday gift for my son's teacher already!

I used Chocolate Chip card stock, along with Sweet Always DSP. You know how you're drawn to certain designer papers when the catalog first comes out, then you end up loving some other designer paper you never really even noticed? Well that's what happend with the Sweet Always paper for me, I just love it! The silver flower brad is from the Styled Silver hodgepodge hardware kit, and check out those little scallops…I used the Boho Blossoms punch, then cut the little flowers in half and stuck them under the flap of the pocket using mini glue dots. The flaps can be held down with velcro.
