Matchbox Advent Calendar

Welcome back! Jeff is out on storm duty after the big Nor'easter we had last night (there are over 400k people out of power in Massachusetts!), and the boys were busy scooping out seeds & carving pumpkins, so I decided to make this project I had seen forever ago over on Monika's blog and always kept it in the back of my mind because it was so darn cute!! I really enjoyed my craft time this afternoon, and I'm so pleased with the results!

I am going to make one of these for each of my boys, and one for my niece & nephew as well, so I've got a lot more work to do! It was quite time consuming, but I think so worth it when it's done! I think I'll do a different pattern/color combo for each one, and of course go a little more whimsical for my nephew & niece since they're only 6 & 4 yrs old. I'll post pics when I finish them. Now, to figure out what little treats I'll put in each drawer, and of course the big finale treat for the "25" box on top?!?!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  1. OMG this is beautiful! I’ve been looking for some premade advent calenders that I can alter, but this is just great. I think I’ll make a couple myself. Love it.

  2. Wow! That’s an ambitious project but absolutely to-die-for! And although your niece and nephew are only 6 and 4, it’s never to young to start being crafty! Glad to see you back!

  3. I loved this when I saw it on Monika’s blog and I love what you’ve done with it too. Can’t wait to see the rest!

  4. I can’t tell you how beautifully this came out because I am at a loss for words. I wasn’t sure if you would ever find the time or desire to do anymore crafting, but the time and love you put into this really shows. I hope each day gets easier for you, and with the holidays approaching, I know it will be your most difficult time yet. Know there are lots of your followers and friends out here thinking of you and praying you find peace, and hoping all the happy memories you had with Linda (your mom) carry you and your family through this difficult season. Miss you, and your tallent, and your great inspiration!

  5. Hi Kerin, I am so happy to see you back! I just love your work, and this latest project is wonderful! Thanks for the inspiration. Best Wishes.
