Browsing around blog land this morning, I was looking for a new challenge to try. I cam across the Color Lab Challenge, phew a challenge it was…use 5, yes 5! colors on one card!! The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Certainly Celery & Bashful Blue…tricky, tricky girls!! But, I do love a challenge, so off I went…
Yesterday when I stopped at the gas station with my son Nick, it started pouring and it was sunny out! I immediately started looking around for a rainbow, and that's what popped into my head when I saw the colors we were to use. I didn't find a rainbow, and the sunset wasn't nearly as pretty as the one on this card, but with stamping it can be anything right?!?!
I started by sponging on some Certainly Celery at the bottom of my Shimmery White card stock, added some Bashful Blue, next was the Cherry Cobbler, and lucky for me it turned a nice purply shade over the blue :)…finally I added the Cajun Craze for the top of the sky. The plants (Just Believe set) are stamped in Early Espresso.
This is why I love to sponge on Shimmery White card stock, see that shimmer?
I almost didn't add anything to this card, but then decided I'd add a tag, but I wanted it to blend, so I sponged on Certainly Celery & Bashful Blue, then stamped my words on top. The ribbon is Early Espresso and I sponged on some Certainly Celery ink to the edges.
I know just where this card is going, so I'm off to get it in the mailbox before my mail carrier comes. Have a great weekend!
