Altered Gift Bag

Okay, here's today's lesson on why I never throw anything away 🙂 The other day I went to Yankee Candle to stock up on tarts during their $1 sale, and I came home with this cute bag:

I emptied out my new tarts into the basket next to my tart burner, but there was no way I was throwing this cute little bag away! It's the perfect size, about 8" wide and 8" tall, perfect for a gift bag! A couple of weeks ago I made this really cool flower, think for the life of me I can find the site of the creator?!?! Nope…so sorry, if it's you just let me know and I'll edit this to include your link. Anywho, she made a similar flower (different colors) for the top of a list pad? using 21 ornament punches. Well I had this flower sitting on my stamp table, waiting to figure out what I'd do with it…aha, today's the day I'm putting that baby to good use!

Edited to add: YES! She found me!! Kelli was the super creator of this flower, and she has wonderful instructions on her blog HERE…thanks Kelli 🙂

I cut two pieces of dsp from the Sweet & Sour Specialty pack, one 6×8" and the other 2×8", then cut a strip of Daffodil Delight cs for behind the flower, 1/2 x 8". I adhered all of this to the gift bag and I'm good to go for the next gift I give…and don't you know while shopping for that gift I'll be on the lookout for the special something that will fit perfectly in this bag lol!!

Here you can see the Smooch Spritz I added to my flower:

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love your bag colors. So pretty and the what a great flower accent. I love to do bags and often use them as a project in my classes. Very pretty.
