Welcome Baby Challenge

Well we got clobbered with more snow here in Massachusetts today, which meant no school for the kiddos and no work for me. Jeff is off on storm duty, helping to restore power throughout the state, so I was on my own with the snow blower, yikes!! I don't know if I've talked about it before, but of course when we bought the snow blower a few years ago, Jeff wanted the biggest and the best…grrreeeaaat (sarcasm)…good for him, because he can handle the thing, not so good for me! It's really quite comical, one of these days I should have someone video tape me chasing it around the driveway trying not to hit the car lol!! It worked out in the end, and with the wet, heavy snow we got, it saved me from the back-breaking task of shoveling the driveway 🙂

So, you know what I thought once I finished that chore??? I deserve a day of stamping 🙂 I hoped all day that the power would stay on at my house, because when Jeff built my stamp room in the basement, I didn't even consider that there would be no windows and I would not be able to stamp without power!! Hooray, it's stayed on (fingers crossed it stays on all night)…

I got so much done, cards and treats for club next week, and when I was looking through some of the entries for Stamping 411 this week I spotted a link to another challenge blog, called SU-Only Challenges…ooh, right up my alley 🙂 Their challenge for this week is baby cards. Here is what I came up with:

I love soft, delicate cards for babies so I knew I wanted to keep it pretty simple. I wish you could see the mini pearls better, they're my favorite part. I used the Pun Fun set stamped in Black StazOn and watercolored in Pretty in Pink and So Saffron, on Shimmery White card stock. The sentiment is from Curly Cute, stamped in Pretty in Pink.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I guess I'll head upstairs and see if it's time to wrestle the snow blower again 😉

  1. I think I’ve got that same snow blower! You’re much braver than me: I won’t even go near it! This an adorable baby card. I hardly ever make those so it’s nice to see a little inspiration for a time when I’ll need one!

  2. Simply adorable card! Love the “softness” of the card and also how you created the middle border with the DSP and scalloped border punch. Thanks for playing with us at SUO Challenges.

  3. First of all, I love your card! The mini pearls really are perfect for this and the little hippo is great! But the snowblower story…that was me all of last winter. My husband has the same philosophy and then had the nerve to miss both big storms last year. There was me, chasing the snowblower…your visual had me laughing out loud! So glad you joined us at SUO Challenges (thanks for the laugh)!
