Posting two days in a row? Uh oh, I may be on a roll! Last night after I shared my Stamper’s Club cards with you I decided to make a tissue holder for my son Nick’s 3rd grade teacher. I’m sure I’m somewhat partial, but I have to say that Mrs. Henderson is the best!! My Nicholas just adores her, and she is so wonderful with the kids in his class. He had her for half the year last year when his teacher went out on maternity leave, and he got to have her again this year…why can’t she just move on to 4th grade with him? (then 5th, and 6th…you see where this is going…)
I have been holding on to this tissue holder for quite a while now, I know I’m such a pack rat! It was under the cabinet of my built-ins, along with all the other "stampable" items I’ve collected and haven’t gotten to yet! I was thinking about making it for Nick’s teacher earlier in the year, you know, like when they actually need tissues…but she was getting married mid-April, so I thought I should wait and make it using her married name. Well I finally got around to it, and he gave it to her today. I volunteer in the classroom on Wednesdays, so I got to see her open it and she was thrilled! She said she had wanted one so bad, ever since she saw the other one I created for his first grade teacher years ago!
I used a different color of the Prints designer paper on each side, some from the catalog and some from the hostess pad. I used Pretty in Pink, Apricot Appeal, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery on the sides, and Real Red on the top. I used the same pattern for all the sides. I used the Sticky Cuts letter "h" with the fine cosmo glitter for her last name initial. I don’t even remember where I got these tissue holders from, maybe Oriental Trading?
