The Paper Players – Color Challenge

Challenge 34
Hooray! It's week #2 of my guest designer spot over at The Paper Players, and I have to tell you I'm having a great time!! The team is awesome, and the players are rockin' it out too!! Lots of eye candy in those entries 🙂

This week it's a color challenge…hmmm, at first I was a little perplexed by what I would do with these colors, but I did come up with something I'm happy with:

DSCN5742
I knew I wanted something rustic & nature themed for this color scheme, that's why I chose the set Nature Walk. For the border at the bottom, I used two Scallop Envelope dies for the Big Shot, and adhered them side by side after I cut away the rest of the envelope besides the flap. I added some mini pearls, ribbon and a button to finish it off.

Here's what I used for my card:

Stamp Set: Nature Walk

Ink: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze

Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Shimmery White (for the bird)

Accessories: Aquapainter, Designer Buttons Rich Regals, Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon, Linen Thread, Basic Pearls, Scallop Envelope die. Stampin' Sponges, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll join in the fun and play along this week!

  1. This is absolutely stunning! Fabulous use of the challenge colors! I love how you stamped the background image. The border made from the scallop envelope die is the perfect touch!

  2. Kerin, this card is drop dead gorgeous. You honestly wouldn’t have thought you were in the least bit perplexed by these colors! I love the overstamping on the background, I love the exquisite coloring of the bird. Using the scalloped envelope is AWESOME. I love the fact that you had the bird anchored by the ribbon. The bow is perfect.
    This card had me staring at it for quite a while! It’s all round P E R F E C T.

  3. What an incredible card! I love the creative way you used the scallop envelope die to create the border. Love the soft background framing the bird – it feels like spring could be around the corner somehow!

  4. All the current colour challenges are featuring cherry cobbler & crumb cake … what a coincidence! I have to say … though … I do love both … and I am enjoying all the inspirational ideas! This is stunning, Kerin! And … the scalloped border is totally inspired! Hugs xxaxx
