Thanksgiving Favors

Favor4

Can you believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving? Woah! Even harder to believe is that Christmas is one month from today…yikes! I always host Thanksgiving at my home, and of course I also make little minty favors for after dinner.

These favors are super simple, so if you haven't made yours yet, I'll show you how I made them and you can whip up a bunch before you start cooking!

Here's what you'll need:

Favor1

As you can see from the picture above, I wasn't crazy about
that bright green Andes candy wrappers for a Thanksgiving favor, so I
cut pieces of dsp 1-1/2 x 2-1/4" and wrapped them around the candies.

Use the clear circle Big Shot die to make your "pockets" out of. I put 3 pieces of card stock at a time (4-1/2" squares) on the die and ran it through the machine…boy that thing cuts like Butta! (yes I'm from New England…got that Boston accent!)

Once you've got your circles ready to go, you'll need to score them like this (in 3/4" from each side, and up 1-1/2" from the bottom…hope you can see the score lines):

Favor2

Now just fold in both sides, and fold up the bottom…no adhesive needed…just cut a piece of ribbon about 8" long and tie it around the pocket after you've inserted your candies. I added two dimensionals on the front of the ribbon and added my turkey image. To make the multi-colored turkey I just inked up my turkey stamp (Gobble, Gobble set) with Pumpkin Pie ink, then added Ruby Red & Bravo Burgundy ink with sponge daubers. Then I punched him out with the 1-3/4" circle punch. Of course my turkey has got some bling, with 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous holiday tomorrow!
