Valentine’s Day Treats

Hey stampers! Wow it's been quite some time since I've made any 3D items! I love making treats for my cute little niece & nephews (and also for my boys, whether or not they act like they're too old for this stuff ;).

I got THE cutest new stamps yesterday from Your Next Stamp, called Sweet and Cool. OMG I'm in love with this set. When my happy mail came yesterday I knew I needed to make Valentine's with this set! I am SO looking forward to making some fun summery cards with the popsicles on this set too…that is if we ever get out of our snow-pocolypse around here! About 3 feet of snow on the ground and another blizzard coming Saturday/Sunday. Good grief mother nature, give it a rest!

Anyway, back to making my treats. It's a simple box with two tags adhered to the outside.

For my tags I used the Die-namics Tag Builder Blueprints 2 from My Favorite Things. The CS is Pink Pirouette from SU!. For the doilies beneath my hearts I usedDie-namics Mini Delicate Doilies, also from MFT Stamps. I colored my hearts with Copics and fussy-cut them, then I added some garland (it's not just for Christmas anymore!) to hold my tags together, and added a few little gems for some bling.
To give you some perspective on how small this box is, it fits about 8 Hershey's kisses perfectly. Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂 I hope you enjoy your Valentine's day!

Fresh Cuts Candle Holder

The other day when I was creating my notes samples to go along with the Fresh Cuts set, I made a votive holder out of 2 of the note cards. It’s so simple to do, and I thought I’d show you how today!

Here’s what it will look like when we’re done:

First, you want to cut yourself two pieces of vellum (3-3/4 x 7-1/2″, scored at 3-3/4″), which will line the note cards so you can get a nice soft glow when you put your tealight/votive inside (I used a tealight, which I think is a good height for the flame to show through the flower cut-outs).

Next, you will decorate your note cards as desired before adhering your vellum to the inside. I just used a stampin’ sponge and some Pretty in Pink classic ink to highlight the flower in the center of the note. I also attached a Rose Red flower fusion flower to the center, and a half-back pearl from the Pretties Kit on top of that.

Now you’re ready to assemble. You can click on any of the pictures to enlarge them and get a better close-up view. Start by laying your notes upside-down and side by side the long way, with the two cut out flower pieces next to each other in the center. You will then take one of your pieces of vellum and put adhesive on all the edges, on the “mountain” side of the fold. If you have not heard of folds referred to “mountain” and “valley” before, the mountain is the outside of the fold, and the valley is the inside of the fold. Now line up your fold of your vellum right inbetween the two notes. Once your vellum is adhered to your note, the vellum is actually holding the two notes together.

Next, adhere your other piece of vellum to one of the non cut-out sides of the note. Holding the other non cut-out side flush against it, stick your vellum to the other non cut-out side. I don’t know how to describe it any better than this, but basically you want to make a square. One piece of vellum holds the two cut-out sides together, and the other piece of vellum holds the non cut-out sides together. Of course if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to call or email me!

Once you’ve got your holder assembled, finish decorating it any way you like. I used Regal Rose wide grosgrain ribbon and some embellishments from the Pretties Kit to finish mine.
