It's time for another wonderful sketch from Stamping 411!! I really liked this sketch (as I do all of them :), and the idea for my card popped into my head right away. I was looking at the Last Chance List from Stampin' Up!, and two of my faves were on it…Blooming Beautiful and Together Forever. Oh how I'd love to get some more use out of those two sets before they're gone forever!! The Together Forever set is not usually used in a fun, bright-colored, way, at least not by me…so that's the direction I headed!
Oh yeah, did you want to see the sketch?
I used a combination of colors for the flowers, coloring each one first with a lighter color, then adding darker colors at the outside edges of the petals. Here are the colors I used if you're interested in whipping up one of your own (left to right): Tempting Turquoise (I just barely brushed on some color, then went darker with the same color), Certainly Celery/Old Olive, Almost Amethyst/Lavender Lace, Pretty in Pink/Pink Passion, Barely Banana/Summer Sun, Bashful Blue/Not Quite Navy, Apricot Appeal/Pumpkin Pie.
The stems are from Greenhouse Garden. The card stock colors are Whisper White, Pink Passion and Basic Black, along with some Black Gingham Ribbon. Oh and the flower petals are punched with the 3/4" Circle Punch and popped up on dimensionals. I also used the Polka-Dots texture folder, and silver brads…I wanted super-shiny brads, so I used the ones from the Filigree Brads pack instead of the plain silver ones.
I can't wait to see more of your awesome creations this week…every operator and every person that plays along over at Stamping 411 amazes me every week!! There is some huge talent going on over there, I hope you'll join in the fun!
Thanks for stopping by!
