Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge & Some News

I know you're here to check out our weekly sketch challenge from Stamping 411, but before we get to that I have some news to share with you. This is my post on the Stamping 411 blog tonight 🙁 "This will be my last week with Stamping 411. This is a decision that has taken me quite some time to come to, and I will truly miss the wonderful group of Operators and dear friends, as well as the inspiring entries from our players!

As you may know, I began working full time last fall. I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but wow, I had no idea how little time I'd have leftover after working all day and maintaining a household! (I worked 3 hours a day previously and had plenty of time for my favorite pastime, ie. stamping 🙂 Throw in my two boys that play on 3 different baseball teams that travel and it gets downright chaotic. Over the past 8 months or so, we have also encountered some serious health issues with my dad, that have required numerous trips to Boston. In short, I needed to figure out what I could cut out to keep up with the rat race that is my life right now, and the only "optional" task I have is the one I hold with Stamping 411, so I had to make the tough decision to let go.

I'll be honest with you, I worry that I won't stamp at all if I don't maintain my weekly schedule of stamping for Stamping 411, but right now that is not a fear I can succumb to. I love my time in my stamping room, and I hope to get back to it and maybe even play along with the challenges some time in the future."

I wanted to thank you all for the support and inspiration you've shown over the last year that I've been with Stamping 411…now without further ado, here's the sketch this week, we sure hope you'll play along 🙂

And my card:

Oh how I do love stamping 🙂 I really enjoyed making this card!! Here's what I used:

As always, thanks SO much for stopping by 🙂 I hope I'll be back to share more with you before too long 🙂

I hope, form our sakes, that you find the time because you are a constant source of inspiration!

(Your card is gorgeous – as always!)

  10. I want to let you know how much your cards have been an inspiration to me -I love this weeks card -just a fun card to give a friend for absolutely no reason at all 🙂 Remember to also take care of yourself. Enjoy your family time goes by so quickly.

  11. I know how much you love stamping and how hard this decision is, but know it is the right one. I have no doubt that you will continue stamping. You are so tallented and creative and watercoloring is something relaxing you can turn to when things get too much and you need some “me-time”. You can stamp lots, watercolor when you need to relax….and then when you are up to it, you will have a boatload of pieces to creat cards and gifts with! Thanks for the great inspiration and for being a fabulous mentor. Love and prayers to you and your whole family.

  12. I’m going to miss you Kerin! I always looked forward to seeing what fabulous creation you came up with. I knew this was your card the moment I saw it. You’ve got style and grace and it will be missed. Come back and at least visit. Take care and know we’re all thinking about you and your family.

  13. Sorry we will not be seeing your work weekly it has been an inspiration. I am sure you will find time to stamp. Not sure how you managed to work full-time and keep up with your great cards every week. I enjoyed hearing about New England since I have extended family up North. Take Care.

  14. We (I) are going to miss you so much!!! You are an amazing stamper and lady and mother and wife!! I am so happy that I have had the chance to have met you in person and through the “web”. I am also sure you will find time to stamp and share with us through your blog. Take care friend!!
    Love this card too!!!

  15. Hi Kerin! I get exactly where you are coming from … having made the decision to quit SU! Everyone has their limitations … and we all need to assess our priorities from time to time and make sure we have the right balance. I will miss your S411 creations … but I am sure you will be playing along as much as you are able! All the best for the future as you care for your family and your mum & dad! Hugs xxaxx

  16. Love your card! I will miss seeing your weekly inspiration…As far as finding time to stamp, I have spent the last 3 yrs handling serious family health issues & you have got to make some ‘me’ time. Taking a little time to make a few cards or a scrapbook layout creates a much better frame of mind. Now I actually ‘schedule’ my crafting time at least one night a week.

  17. Kerin…you know I think you have FABULOUS talent and you will definitely be missed on the S411 Operator Team! But…as you said, sometimes other priorities need met. I hope you do take time to join us again from time to time. I know I’m always inspired by your work and think…why didn’t I think about doing that! Take care and enjoy your family!

  18. Kerin, we are going to miss you something fierce at the Stamping 411. You truly are a very talented stamper, and I am going to miss working with you every week. The time will come when your schedule slows down, and I know you’ll find the time to stamp again. Take care of that family, my friend!
P.S. Your card is amazing. Cheers to you, my friend!

  19. I will miss your card creations. I’ve been following your blog, and have enjoyed what you’ve done with Stamping 411. I work full time too, and know how much it can take out of you. And I don’t even have kids at home anymore! Hopefully you’ll have some “me-time” as others have said, so you can still have the creative outlet, without the obligation. I wish you well, and hope to see you post in the future.
