Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #161

It's time for a great new sketch over at Stamping 411, and this one is a bit different, with the chance to use a cluster of different items instead of one focal image…love it! The second I saw the sketch I knew I would be using the fun new paper daisies 🙂

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

My favorite part of these paper daisies is that they come white, and you can seriously turn them into anything you want…printed, colored, anything!!! I dyed them with Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade ink…only I realized I didn't have the reinkers yet for either of these colors, so I actually colored the daisies with the Daffodil Delight marker, then dunked it in water to mellow out the color. For the Poppy Parade, I applied the color with a sponge dauber, then sponged on some water after because I wanted to keep the color darker and not wash it out as much. While they were still a bit damp I sponged on more color to darken them up a bit.

I added some sticky half-back pearls, and in the center of my biggest daisy I stamped "hi" using the new Fabulous Phrases set. The dsp is Sunny Garden, and I used Peach Parfait ribbon, with a bitty button and some Linen Thread across the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you'll have time to play along this week!

  1. Beautiful card Kerin. You, Lee and myself that the 411 operator “mind meld” going on this week. We all chose to emboss our white layer with the polka dots. I love all your paper daisies…so pretty!
