Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge

I was looking for a little stamping inspiration tonight, and I came across a sketch challenge that I don't think I've tried before. It's over at the Stamping411 blog and you should give it a try! I had an idea for the sketch right away, although I did sway from the original a bit…I wasn't sure what to use for the circle image so I substituted for some buttons with silver cord in them.

To make the Christmas tree I stamped the tree once in Always Artichoke, then once in Real Red, both on Very Vanilla CS. Then I punched out the circles from the red one and lined it up on top of the Artichoke one…I think they call this spotlighting? I'm not sure…I call it me being too lazy to try and color the whole thing with two different color markers without making a mess! For the "star" on the top I used the Platinum Shimmer Paint with a sponge dauber to ink my stamp. The Merry Christmas came from the Holiday Best hostess set.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Kerin! I am so glad you found us at 411! I already have your blog in Reader and check out all your posts – you are a great stamper!
This card is no exception and it IS called spotlighting, not laziness! LOL!
Thanks for playing along this week!

  2. Good morning Kerin! This is sooooooo pretty hun! Love that chocolate for Christmas. I really wish I’d had bought that embossing folder when I was a demo…it’s one of my faves!
Love that image and your buttons add the perfect touch : )

  3. Kerin, this is very pretty! I am with you on the stamping & punching….MUCH easier than using the markers! I have no patience! Your creation is just lovely, and congrats on being a 411 pick!
