Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge

It's that time again, time for a fabulous new sketch from Stamping 411! I hope you played along last week, what a great time it was celebrating the one year anniversary with the card guessing game and lots of blog candy!! Plus, all of the phenomenal entries from the players, woohoo!!!

Here's the sketch for this week, I hope you'll give it a try!

And here's my card:

I wanted to make something in celebration of Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer. This card reminds me of one of my favorite things to do in the summer, which head to the waterfront in Plymouth (the next town over from me), and have a delicious dinner at my favorite seafood restaurant! There are always lots of seagulls hanging around waiting for a scrap or two near the local restaurants and boat ramp, oh how that reminds me of summer!! Mm, mm, mm, that's where I'd hang out if I were a seagull!

I used Shimmery White, Basic Grey, and Not Quite Navy card stock, along with the hostess stamp set called The More the Merrier. I watercolored the seagulls wings with Basic Grey, and the hearts with Real Red and Not Quite Navy. I textured the background piece with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate for the Big Shot. I also used the Word Window Punch for the Celebrate (Fundamental Phrases set), and the Modern Label punch behind it. I added Real Red Satin Ribbon and a Filigree Brad to finish it off.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you create this week!

  1. OMG!!! I almost fell over when I saw your card. It is what I sketched while getting my hair done a few days ago for this sketch. Then I changed my mind. I love-love-love this card and the ribbon is the bomb!!! Fabulous!

  2. I love this card Kerin. Seagulls hold a special place in my heart….remind me of summer vacations at Ocean City, NJ. My son would disagree as one stole his bologna sandwich (he was maybe 6 years old) out of his hands as he was about to take a bite!!!

  3. Wow! You used all of mine and Lee’s white this week! 🙂
This is just fabulous Kerin! Love the ribbon treatment so much! That restaurant in Plymouth sounds fab too – I might have to come up and visit sometime!
    Have a wonderful weekend!
