Paper Players Challenge

Woohoo!! Can I just tell you how excited I was to be asked to be a guest designer on The Paper Players blog this month!?!?! This talented group of girls invited me to join them??? Wow!! I am thrilled!

So, the first challenge of this month is a theme challenge…

Challenge 33

Oh this is perfect! Valentine's day is right around the corner, and creating a love themed project is always fun 🙂

Here's my card:

I don't know if you can tell from the picture (click on it for a closer look), but the heart is stamped on Botanical Gazette dsp, and I also used the same dsp for the background of the card. I didn't want you to wonder what I did to white or vanilla CS to get that speckly look 😉

Now, you know how I always use all SU! products right? As much as I love our rhinestones, pearls, brads, etc., I wanted something a little different for this card, so I made an accessory of my own. See those cute little dots in the top left corner? Here's how I made them…I started with a sheet of the sticky back rhinestones. I colored on them with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker, then I added a droplet of Crystal Effects to each rhinestone to cover the ink. Check out this picture below for a better look:

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, I think I'll be using this trick more often!!

Here are the supplies I used on this card:

Stamp Sets: Always, Three Little Words

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso

Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Botanical Gazette DSP

Accessories: Early Espresso Satin Ribbon, Jewelry Tag Punch, Vintage Trinkets, Stamping Sponges, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you'll join in the fun over at The Paper Players!!

  1. Oh my goodness Kerin! This is wonderfully elegant and your tip for coloring the rhinestones is GENIUS!! They look like dew drops–fantastic! Can’t wait to try it. So happy to have you on board with us this month! {hugs}

  2. Congrats on being picked a guest designer!!! You have sooo much to offer, and I think your cards and 3-D creations are so inspiring and beautiful!!!
    Way to go!

  3. Kerin, it’s wonderful to have you on the Players team! this is a great project. I love the fact that it can be used for either gender. Great job coloring your rhinestones, too!
