Autism Awareness Blog Hop

Hello! I am thrilled to be a part of a fantastic group of designers as we do our part in spreading Autism Awareness to our crafting community. SugarPea Designs is a sponsor of this hop which is hosted by Veronica Zalis.

For my card I used one of my favorite new sets from SugarPea Designs, Pretty Peonies. I started by embossing the flower with white embossing powder, then I sponged distress inks over top in a rainbow of color. The sentiment is on a flag from the SugarCuts – Stitched Flags set.

I am so happy you stopped by my blog today. Please be sure to visit the SugarPea Designs Blog for a look at some of the fantastic cards for today’s hop!

SugarPea Designs – Pretty Peonies

Hello! Today I’m up on the SugarPea Designs blog sharing a card I made using one of my absolute favorites from the new release, Pretty Peonies! I’m a huge flower fan, and this gorgeous bloom is perfect for all sorts of coloring! Today I chose to watercolor. Here’s a close up:

When I watercolor I usually try to add layers of color, so I dry the image after each layer that I add. If I find that a section’s too dark, I dry it then add a little more water. Watercolors are so forgiving, they’re one of my favorite mediums.

I added some vellum across the lower portion of my card to mount my “hello” on… did you know that this SugarCut is free with your $60 order (before s&h)?? This is the most amazing font, I want to use this die for everything!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFT Stamps ~ Sketch Challenge 375

Hello and happy Saturday! I’ve got a zillion things to do but I wanted to sneak in a little stamping first. Have you ever woken up thinking of a card design? I do it all the time! I got an email the other day from My Favorite Things with the new sketch challenge, and last night I thought up the card above in my sleep. Here’s the sketch:

I’ve had this darling set called Fun in the Sun for a while but had not inked it up yet. I had so much fun coloring this little cutie and her accessories with Copic markers this morning. To create the background I used Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink, then splattered on some Ground Espresso Distress Ink.. To create her polka dotted bathing suit I paper pieced some navy blue paper from the Spots & Stripes Brights Patterned Paper Collection from SugarPea Designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you find some time to get crafty this weekend!

SugarPea Designs ~ Hello

Hey crafty friends! I’m up on the SugarPea Designs blog today sharing a card I made with products from the new release last week!  One of my favorite products from the new release is the Hello SugarCut. Did you know that this is the “Sweet Incentive” item for this release? That means that you will get this fabulous die included with your order of $60 or more (excluding discounts or s&h) absolutely free! I am finding that I want to add this die cut to every card I make lately!! I also used the new Card Front Element Builder SugarCut. Oh I love the combination of a scalloped edge and stitching!

Check out the blog post HERE for details on how I made this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

SugarPea Designs Winter Release ~ It’s Almost Time!

It’s the final day of the Winter Release at SugarPea Designs! I hope you’ve enjoyed everything so far, and we’ve got even more fabulous products to share with you today! The set I used to create the card above is one of my favorites for sure! It’s called Better Together and it has a matching SugarCut die set too! I loved coloring every little cookie and the milk on this card, and this was my Valentine’s Day card for my hubby 🙂

And, here’s a card I made with the new Diagonal Striped CoverPlate SugarCut die:

I used the die to create a stencil, then applied distress ink in a fun color palette with some splatters for texture. I turned to one of my favorites for this release to finish off this card, the Hello SugarCut die (free with $60 purchase)…oh how I love this sentiment!

The new release goes live at 6 p.m. Eastern time tonight!!! In the meantime, be sure to check out what the rest of the team has come up with!

SugarPea Designs Winter Release ~ Day 4

It’s day 4 of the Winter Release at SugarPea Designs and today’s set called Topiary Garden is another one that is perfect for so many occasions! I used it to create a card that would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary or a birthday! And, how beautiful is this font?!? I love it so much!! This set also has a matching SugarCut set that will make creating beautiful cards a snap!

The new release goes live tomorrow at 6 p.m. Eastern time. In the meantime, be sure to check out what the rest of the team has come up with, and stop back tomorrow for our final day of sneak peeks!

SugarPea Designs Winter Release ~ Day 3

Hello! It’s day 3 of the Winter Release at SugarPea Designs and today we’ve got more amazing products to share! First up is the super sweet new set called Otterly Adorable. Is this cuteness overload or what?! It’s so exciting that there is a matching SugarCut die set too, so no fussy cutting! I paired this little guy with the wavy die from the new Card Front Element Builder that is also being released this week. I used watercolor paper and distress inks to create a watery background.

Next up is the fun new Striped CoverPlate SugarCut. I love that it has a panel built right in to highlight an image or sentiment! I used distress inks to create a fun splattered background before die cutting my watercolor paper. Then I added one of my favorites from this release, the new Hello SugarCut (free with $60 purchase). Finally I put clear acetate behind my die cut and added sequins for a fun shaker card.

The new release goes live this Friday at 6 p.m. Eastern time. In the meantime, be sure to check out what the rest of the team has come up with, and stop back tomorrow for more sneak peeks!
