Happy Birthday Lori!

I made this card today for my friend Lori’s birthday, which is tomorrow. (I know, nothing like last minute huh???) I have to say it is MUCH cuter in real life. I made the flower pot from some scraps of Really Rust card stock. The flowers are from a great set called Touch of Nature, and they’re colored in with markers and then embossed twice with Glassy Glaze ultrathick embossing powder. They’re attached to the card with dimensionals too, so they really "pop". This was nothing like what I set out to make, but I’m happy with the result. Now off to the mailbox to get it to Lori in time!

Thanks Donna!

My friend and fellow demonstrator Donna came over the other day, and brought with her an adorable little purse like this one. I immediately wanted to know how to make it! Of course I didn’t want to copy hers exactly (okay, I did want to copy hers exactly, but I refrained!), so I changed the colors and designer paper. I think it’s so cute! What a great gift this would make filled with cards! Thanks again Donna!Img_3646

Today my sister called me, who is a realtor, and wanted me to make her a card. First thought…yay! I love when people want me to make cards!! She likes to send out "happy first year in your house" cards…isn’t she thoughtful?? Anyway, the house they bought is pondfront, so my first thought was a scene where it would look like the trees were reflecting in the pond. I had a lot of fun with this technique! Here’s what I came up with…

Ahoy, Matey!

I made a birthday card today for my son’s best friend who turned 8 today. I wanted to use the Ahoy, Matey! set because I was using the matching wheel to make the wrapping paper for his gift. I used Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip and Real Red card stock, and I watercolored the card using my aquapainters (paint brushes prefilled with water) and coordinating stamp pads. Watercoloring is so easy this way! I used linen thread and a 1/16" hole punch to make the little knots on the corners of the pirate picture. Anyone who knows my son Nick knows he is crazy about collecting rocks! He could open his own rock store in his room! Well, his friend is the same way…so we bought him a giant chunk of mica for his birthday…kind of like opening treasure huh?!

Quarterly Demonstrator Event Yesterday!

Sorry it’s been a couple of days since I’ve posted something new…but I’ve been very busy learning some new stuff to share with you!

We had such a blast! We made 4 awesome projects that I’ll be offering as a stamp camp soon! Tomorrow I’ll be posting all the swap cards I got yesterday.

Check your email box for my monthly newsletter too…lots of great stuff going on this month!

Trifold Card

Well this was a fun little project for today! I got the SCS weekly newsletter and had to try this right away! It was really easy to make, and I think it’s pretty cute too. I used the new designer paper from the spring mini, and the matching stamp set called Polka Dots & Paisley. If you like some of the projects I’ve been making lately, check out my calendar or book a party…you can make something fun of your very own!Img_3537 Img_3536

Today’s Project

I made some cards today, but I wanted to make a little project too. I found this cute flower to make and decided to try it out. I used the designer paper called "Rebecca", Chocolate Chip and Pink Passion card stock, and I love how the silver diamond shape of the vintage brads matches the designer paper!

Hubby’s bday is tomorrow!

My wonderful husband Jeff’s birthday is tomorrow! I whipped up this card for him, and I’m actually feeling a little guilty that it only took about 5 minutes to make!! I really like it though…it’s the thought that counts right? I’m also cooking his favorite meal (Alice Springs Chicken from Outback Steak House), so I’m sure I’ll be forgiven for the simple card pretty quickly!

I used the Treehouse designer paper, with Cranberry Crisp card stock and a giant confetti white tag. Of course I used the Prep School ribbon because it matches so well!

Demo Meeting Swap

A fun part of being a demo is our monthly meetings! A group of us get together and swap cards, stamp and chat. We always have a great time. The theme for tonight’s swaps is anything from the Spring Mini, so with Easter right around the corner, I chose Bunny Hugs. I used Cool Caribbean and Pretty in Pink card stock, and the new designer paper in the Spring Mini too! I punched out the holes in the front of the card so you can see the chicks, but they’re actually on the inside of the card.
