Nature’s Nest

I am loving this new set from Stampin' Up! called Nature's Nest. It was the first set that caught my eye…well, there were LOTS of sets that caught my eye…but this one was a "must have" for my first order!

I'm always thinking about stamping, and if I don't stamp for a whole day it's just not right! I usually wake up thinking of what I'll stamp, and today was no different…so I hopped out of bed (it's MUCH easier to hop out of bed when I don't need to go to work lol!!), gulped down my coffee and headed into my stamp room. Here's what I came up with, hope you like it! Now my day's complete and it's only 10 a.m.!!

I stamped the nest in Black StazOn on Watercolor Paper, then used my Aquapainter with the ink from the inside of my stamp pad covers to color it. The colors I used are…for the nest, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Soft Suede. For the leaves, Old Olive, Always Artichoke and a little Soft Suede over the top to dull them down and make them blend in. For the eggs, Sage Shadow with Bermuda Bay.

The CS colors are Kraft, Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede, and that's the new Soft Suede poka-dot ribbon flipped over to omit the dots. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, my new "go-to" word set! Oh yeah, and I also used my other new favorite, the Finial Press embossing folder…how did I ever live with out that???

Thanks for stopping by, hope you fit in some stamping today!

  1. Love this card and stamp set.Nice to make Robin’s eggs with! Like your turtle card, this is very soothing to look at. Keep up the wonderful work!!!

  2. Kerin,
This card is simply FABULOUS! The set was a must have for me too but now that I have it I’m a bit intimidated by it. Now I really am, you made that nest POP off the page. It almost looks like you have flocked it or something it has dimension. The colors are vibrant and seperate yet blended. When I WC with my AquaPainter I just can’t seem to gain that kind of control. Thank you for sharing, I may have to give your card a try!

  3. Hi Kerin. Ditto on both of the comments above me. I tried coloring the eggs but couldn’t get the color just right. You have found the right combo and I appreciate. that. Back to the drawing board!

  4. I am soooo glad I ordered this stamp set right away. Love this nest and the turtle on the other card. Can’t wait to get started.

  5. Wow Kerin! So much great new stuff all put together in a fabulous project. Thanks for sharing. I’ve been wanting to see what the new embossing folder looks like and now I have! It’s another Wow!
