This week's Merry Monday challenge is to use a tree with some bling on your card. I decided to go with a very simple design this week (wow, this may be the first card I haven't colored in months!), and make a wintry scene of trees at night. Nothing better for bling on a wintry scene than some glistening, glittery snow in my opinion!
First I created my night sky, by sticking a punch circle of paper in place for a moon, then sponging ink all over. I used Marina Mist and Night of Navy, both from Stampin' Up!. Then I pulled off my moon shape to reveal the night sky. As you can see I did darker at the top and lighter toward the ground, like the moon is shining down almost.
I used the Snow Scenes set from Flourishes, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped a few of the Christmas trees off onto scrap paper first so they could be the shadowy trees in the background.
To finish it off I took some pieces of white card stock and tore them in "hilly" fashion, added some glue and glitter and done! All in all I think this card took maybe 15 minutes to create? This would be a perfect assembly line card for someone who needs to make lots fast!
