Long Time Friend

Remember this set? It's from 2006 and I still love it! Most of my customers know that when Stampin' Up! retires stamp sets each year, I'm the first one to clean out my stash of stamp sets! I'm a big fan of "out with the old in with the new"…and I'm probably one of those rare demonstrators that likes to see a nice, big retired list!! It means I get lots of new goodies, so it works for me :)  I usually have a big sale of everything I've got that retired, but this one set I just had to keep…it's my absolute favorite and I couldn't let it go!

A couple of years ago I did NOT like coloring AT ALL…I would steer clear of just about everything that included coloring of any kind…hard to believe after seeing what I buy most of the time now huh??? Now I can't find enough sets that included coloring! So today I decided to dust off this oldy but goody set that I love, and use it for the Stamping411 Saturday Sketch Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love this set although I don’t own it. Your coloring is fabulous – on this card and also all of your beautiful cards made with the Abundant Hope set. I’ve been trying to duplicate some of the beautiful coloring you have done on the daffodils but I need more practice. What is your favorite way to color – blender pens and ink, aquapainter, watercolor crayons, etc? I’d love to hear! Thanks for a wonderfully inspiring blog.

  2. Ahhh, finally! I was hoping you’d get a card done this week! 🙂
It’s beautiful – love how soft it looks, like a homemade quilt. You are a master colorer my dear, maybe I can be like you when I grow up!
Thanks for playing again this week!

  3. Heck yes, I remember this set. I am STILL kicking myself for not buying it before I retired. LOL!!!
Your coloring is amazing. I was hoping to see a card from you this week!!!! Love your stuff!

  4. This card is so tranquil and serene, It makes me feel at peace and I absolutely love it! You never know, it may be back some day and you’ll be glad to have “your old Friend”!

  5. That is one set I was sorry I did let go. You did a beautiful job with coloring and flipping the sketch. I love the ribbon detail. PERFECT card! Thanks for playing along with Stamping 411 sketch this week!

  6. This is one of my favorite sets too. I still have mine and was surprised to see Garden from the heart in the mini since it looks so much like parts of this set. Thanks for sharing a beautiful card.
