I’ve been hearing so much lately about coloring the silver ribbon slides from the new Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware (shown HERE), that I just had to try it for myself! All you need to do is mix a little Crystal Effects with a drop of re-inker and voila! I got the set Boho Backgrounds in a recent order and hadn’t even put it together yet, so I thought today would be the perfect chance to try it out. I used Old Olive re-inker, and I "colored" in my ribbon slide with a toothpick, as shown below:

Because I’m so impatient, I hit it with the heat gun after I got done coloring so I could use it instantly to make this embellishment for the card shown below:

I used Old Olive and Bashful Blue card stock and ink, with Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon, mounted on Whisper White card stock. Each layer of the embellishment is up on dimensionals, and the ribbon slide is adhered with a mini glue dot.

  1. Great job coloring the ribbon slide 🙂 I’ve got to get some! I love the pic’s of your stamping room…. who wouldn’t want to come stamp with you! I saw the Sesame Street Character cards and they are adorable 🙂

  2. I think I will do this at my next stamp camp…I think they will like it and might even purchase some of the silver hodgepodge…
