Fifth Avenue Floral

Yellow-rose

I hope you like the card I created today…although I'm a bit under the weather right now, I still feel like stamping and coloring are the best therapy for anything that ails me! I knew that I wanted to use the Fifth Avenue Floral set, because I wanted to practice coloring the rose, using different colors for the levels of shading.

I discovered a new trick today when I was working with this ribbon…it's the Whisper White Organza Ribbon (p. 183)…I colored it with my Basic Black marker, and of course having zero patience, I turned to my heat tool to quickly dry it…when the ribbon began to crumple up I really liked the look! So I kept applying the heat directly to the ribbon until I got the finished product you see here.

I used the Bride Specialty dsp (p. 158), and applied Summer Sun ink to the portion at the top of the card with a sponge. The rose is popped up using dimensionals, and I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes set for the sentiment. I cut the tag for it by hand. The black circle behind the rose was made using the Circle Scissor Plus.

Thanks for stopping by!
