Happy Monday morning all! I'm relieved that it's Monday and looking forward to one of our last weeks of summer. Wow, what a busy weekend it was, with a trip to Water Country in NH on Friday, and my "little one's" 10th birthday party yesterday…I always call my Nick my little one because he's the youngest, although at age 10 he's 5'4"!! I have a feeling my "little one" will be towering over all of us in no time!
I made this card for my friend Robin's birthday (which was yesterday, Happy Birthday Robin!) I saw the idea for this card on SUDSOL, and you can see the original HERE on Kayleen's blog. I loved the idea of taking the flowers from the Pretties Kit, coloring them, and folding them in half! To color my flowers, I started with Summer Sun all over (I used sponge daubers to apply my ink), then working my way out from the center, I added some More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and a bit of Ruby Red on the edges. I used Corduroy Buttons for the flower centers, although I only have the Kraft ones, so I colored mine with some Chocolate Chip ink on a sponge. The stems and bee (there's glitter on his wings if you can't see it in the pic) came from the Bloomin' Beautiful set, and the sentiment is from the It's Your Birthday set.
Of course once we head back to school I won't be relieved that it's Monday, but for now I am…hope you have a great day!
