Daisy Purse

Flower-purse

Hi there! Guess what? No rose card today!! I bet you're shocked huh??? It was tough but I did it…and the funny thing is, I didn't post yesterday because ALL I made was rose cards and I figured you must be sick of them by now!

I haven't made anything 3d in a while, so I decided to go for something besides a card today. Although it was about 40 degrees cooler today than it was yesterday, the flowers are still popping up everywhere, and inspiring lots of flower projects!

For today's "purse" I used the large scallop circle die for the Big Shot, and I layered a piece of paper, then a piece of the cardboard backing from a package of dsp, then another piece of paper and adhered them all together…then ran them through the Big Shot. I found the best scallop with a flat bottom for me was to leave 8 scallops at the bottom that would not be cut.

Once I made the two sides of my purse, I created a little box for the middle. The cardstock for that measured 6×8", and I scored in at 2-1/2" on all sides. You'll notice that where you would normally fold in your sides and adhere, they're too long, so you'll need to cut those down to 1". I hope that makes sense…if not, just shoot me an email and I'll try to explain better.

I used some White Satin ribbon for the handle, along with some Filigree Brads to hold the handle onto the box. In the center of my daisy is a Fire Rhinestone Brad, but I took the brad apart and just used the gem from the middle, and stuck it on with a mini glue dot. The dsp is Pink Flamingo. Thanks for stopping by!
