Wow, thought this was going to be a quick card when I started…not so much! This is probably about the sixth version of this card that I finally settled on. Ever have those days? You start with a great idea (that’s MUCH better in your head than it is once it’s made LOL!)…then it turns into something totally different because your first idea was such a failure? Yup, that’s this card!
As you can see by the 2nd picture, I used glossy white paper and smeared Baja Breeze ink on it with a sponge dauber all around in circles. Then I used this Baja shiny paper I made for my cupcake top die. The bottom of the cupcake is made with the new Parisian Breeze Specialty textured paper, which I ran through my crimper (after die-cutting the shape of course). The “sprinkles” on the cupcake are square rhinestone brads, and I just took them apart to only use the gem portion.
The “happy birthday” tag is also a new sizzlits die, the exclusive SU Lots of Tags. I also used more Parisian Breeze paper for the background, and Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon. In the corners I punched some 1/4″ squares of Chocolate Chip card stock and stuck the shapes on with mini glue dots.
Thanks for stopping by! I’m almost ready for Friday night now (my new catalog kickoff party), I can’t WAIT to show you one of the make-n-takes, and the cute little favors I made today too! I’ll try to schedule that post for either Friday night while the girls are here or Saturday so stay tuned! Of course I’ll be back tomorrow with something new too!
