Color Challenge

PPA76-Kerin-Sylvester
Woohoo, 2 challenges in one week!! I'm so happy to finally find some time to stamp again! Today I have the girls over at Pals Paper Arts to thank for their inspiration…they're hosting a color challenge, and the colors are Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum.

I wasn't too sure what I'd do with this color combo, but somehow it just fell into place and I'm very happy with my card 🙂

I used the Because I Care stamp set, stamped in Black StazOn on Shimmery White card stock. Then I watercolored it using Perfect Plum & Pear Pizzazz ink. I used Pear Pizzazz printed dsp and sponged the edges with Pear Pizzazz ink. I also used Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon, and the Decorative Label punch. I also added some sticky back pearls for a little extra something.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Beautiful – I especially love the treatment you did on your DSP with the torn edges and sponging. It really adds a nice layer of dimension. The card is so elegant and the recipient would truly feel the care and love in the card when they opened it.

  2. You have an amazing talent for putting together fairly simple cards in a unique and creative way. I say that as the highest compliment. I feel like so many cardmakers just keep adding “stuff” to make their card stand out – but it isn’t the “stuff” that does it. Your cards have an image, a sentiment, perfect color combos, and a special touch – and they work beautifully!!
Last night, we had our first church cardmaking gathering since you sent us a box of your gorgeous cards. You should have seen the drooling and heard the gasps!! The group loved your work! Thank you ever so much!

  3. Beautiful card, Kerin! I wish I had your gift of design, and your style. It is clean and classy! Unfortunately, I think I am one of those people that Kim S. referred to who adds too much stuff. lol
