Deconstructed Sketch 123

123-ksylvester

Woohoo another Sunday of stamping for me & football for hubby 🙂 I mentioned to Jeff today that it's actually kind of funny that lately on Sunday mornings I'm running around trying to catch up on cleaning, laundry, menu planning and grocery shopping for the week, etc…almost like I won't let myself stamp until I finish my chores. I'm so glad that's how it's been working out, because once I got down here to my "girl cave", yes that's what Jeff & the boys are calling it now since my stamp room is in the basement, it was pure bliss knowing I had nothing else I had to do.

For today's card I started with the Deconstructed Sketch 123. I picked out the papers I wanted to use (My Mind's Eye – Lost & Found Market), then found the girly stamp I thought would match well to color (My Favorite Things – Doodlebug Garden Springtime Wishes).

Here are the Copic colors I used:

Hair & Shoes – E33, E35, E37, E47

Dress & Bow – R20 R22, R24

Flowers – R24, R27, R29

Stems – YG03, YG07

Skin – E000, E31, E33

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sketch Challenge Week #28

Good Thursday morning! I am having so much fun with the new Shimmer Paints that will be in the Holiday Mini, available NEXT TUESDAY! Wow it's almost time!! Yesterday when I was getting this sketch ready, I put some rubbing alcohol in a mini spray bottle (as I was pouring the rubbing alcohol into the bottle, the memories of getting my ears pierced as a little girl came rushing back…I guess that's about the only reason to like the scent of rubbing alcohol!). Anyway, I put in a couple of drops of the Champagne Shimmer Paint, shook it up, and sprayed each layer of paper I was going to apply to my card. I love the effect! It reminds me of when we used to use PearlEx in hairspray, but a lot less sticky!

Please see the note below, and then join in the sketch challenge!

Unfortunately I will be taking a break from hosting sketch challenges after this week. I'm headed back to work tomorrow, and with the boys in school, sports and all of that craziness, along with LOTS of other stamping projects I'm working on, I'm going to have to put the sketch challenges on the back burner for a while

BUT, here's the good news…as our last hoorah for a while, I thought I'd offer an extra special prize, a brand new set of Stampin' Up! Pastels ($24.95 value)! You can do SO many things with pastels, you'll be sure to get lots of use out of them!

Here are the details:
Anyone can enter, the more the merrier!! For each sample that you create, and you post either on your blog or on Splitcoast and you link back to this post, you will receive one entry into the drawing. ***If
you do not have a working link back to this post either on your blog or
on SCS, you will not be entered in the drawing and your entry will be

and the winner will be drawn that night.

This is a very simple layout, and so versatile too! Just change up the patterns and textures and you've got many possibilities! This is one of the cards the girls made at my downline meeting last night. A downline meeting is when a bunch of demonstrators in my group all get together to chat and stamp and it's one of the highlights of the month for me!

I used the NEW embossing folder that will be available Sept. 1 in the Holiday Mini, called Petals-A-Plenty, along with the most gorgeous holiday paper called Christmas Cocoa Specialty…some of the paper in this package has got a little metallic touch to it, and some of it is even flocked!! Beautiful! The stamp set is called Christmas Classics (p. 33) and of course there's glitter on the ornament, plus on the little centers of the poinsettias for an added touch.

Okay, onto the PRIZE…you know you want to start your holiday cards don't you!??!? So enter this sketch challenge and you may win the awesome new stamp called Dasher (p. 208)!

Thanks for stopping by, and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

It's an easy one huh? The diagonal lines can be anything, card stock, designer paper, stamped images like I used…your choice! Here's my sample:

For this card I used another fun new toy from Stampin' Up!, called Shimmer Paint. You can see in the picture below just how shimmery it is, I love it! It will come in 3 colors…I used Platinum, and there's also Frost White and Champagne Mist. The bottles are very small, but I can tell already that it will go a loooong way…seriously, I felt like I was dry-brushing it onto my stamp because I just kept using the same paint brush over and over without re-dipping it into the paint, and it still came out as dark as the first time I brushed it on. I'm not really sure how to clean it, but I wiped off my stamp with a baby wipe, then used my Stampin' Scrub. I think I may dedicate one of my Stampin' Scrubs to this paint, since I don't want everything to end up shimmery (or maybe I do????).

Okay, onto the prize….well last week was not a hit with the ribbon, or maybe you were just too busy to stamp? I hope more of you will enter this week! I don't know what you think is more fun, new stamping supplies or stuff to stamp? I'd love to hear from you, would you rather a stamp pad, or paper, or stuff like that…or would you rather supplies to make 8 cards? I'll take your advice for next week, but for this week, we'll do A Little Note of Thanks Mini Note Kit.  Okay girls, let's get stampin'!

Sketch Challenge #25 Winner

Wow, only 4 entries this week! What's going on??? I hope you'll all be back to stamping for the next sketch challenge coming up tomorrow!!

Okay, our winner is…Robin!!!!!!!!!
