Hey stamping friends! Today SugarPea Designs is sharing in the excitement of STAMPtember with our friends at Simon Says Stamp! We’re thrilled to share with you a stamp set created exclusively for this event and only available while supplies last, called Cuddly Cacti! There is also a coordinating die set and you can purchase them as a bundle or separately! This set is only available while supplies last, so grab yours today before they’re gone!!
Here’s my card:
These darling cactus images are just too stinkin’ cute, and how about those sentiments too? I know we all have those days that we’re a little “prickly”! For my card I sponged a little Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink into watercolor paper, then splattered a little water on it for a backdrop to my cactus. I colored the cactus in Copics (YG01, YG03, YG06, YG09), and for the pot I used (YR21, YR24, YR27). I cut out the center of the Postage Stamp Cover Plate SugarCut with a Zig Zag Stitched Circle SugarCut and popped up the cactus with foam tape for some added dimension.
Hi crafty friends 🙂 Why oh why have I had Yupo paper in my stash for months and never experimented with it until today?!?! It’s SO much fun! When I saw this month’s Virginia’s View Challenge, I knew it was time to try it out since the theme is Spray, Mist & Splatter:
I colored on my Yupo paper with Copic markers, then added dots of Alcohol Blending Solution all over with a felt pad. I love the effect it created, and I thought it would be perfect for an underwater scene using the Best Fishes set from Simon Says Stamp.
I’m also entering my card in this week’s Wednesday Challenge from Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes.
Thanks so much for stopping by…I think I’m off to see what else I can do with Yupo!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 Oh how I needed a little stamping therapy tonight! I read an article online recently that coloring is right up there with yoga where relaxation is concerned. Yup, that’s about right for me!
I’ve been trying to join in on Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge as much as I can. We went away camping this past weekend and had a blast, but let me tell you, there were times when I wished I had packed a few Copics!
I got THE coolest stamps the other day from Designs by Ryn…how about the water droplets on this card? Okay, do you mind if I add water droplets to everything from now on?!? I also checked out her tutorial on YouTube for making them more realistic looking. Simple and effective!
Hey stampers! Well it's another snowy day in New England (shocker, they all seem to be snowy days lately!) We're at the tail end of yet another blizzard…and that means I'm hunkered down in my stamp room for the afternoon! My stamp room is in the basement with lots of lighting, so I'm just going to pretend there aren't 4-5 feet of snow on the ground right now k?
I'm spending the afternoon watching videos on distress inks and crafting up my own storm. I've had distress inks for several months now, but I'm still not feeling too comfortable with them. Well, I happened upon THIS video by Kristina Werner and could not resist making my own version of her card to go along with the latest Simon Says Stamp challenge. I don't have the variety of colors Kristina has (soon to be remedied, don't you worry!), so my "ocean" is a little less dramatic than hers. I'm still loving this technique though!
