Hi there! Last Friday night I got together with some fellow demonstrators, and we decided to give ourselves a stamping challenge…it was a tricky one, and shortly you'll know why! You may have noticed through reading my blog that I really struggle with using bright colors…I prefer the light pastels or rich earthy tones any day, brights just aren't up my alley ya know?
So here was the challenge…first, use the Big Shot (my favorite thing to do, that'll be a snap!), second, create a box (I love creating boxes and 3d items, so I thought this was going to be a cake-walk!!), and third…use Bold Brights (uh oh, I NEVER use Bold Brights colors, unless it's Christmas and I break out the Real Red! This could be a problem!!!)
So after a glass (or two) of wine one night, I decided to embrace the challenge and whipped up this box shown below. It's similar to other Top Note boxes you've seen, but usually they're made with a top and a bottom that fit together, and I made mine one box with a cover that flipped open.
I was pretty pleased with myself when I finished the box, feeling like I had met the challenge…until the next day when I realized I needed to make 3 more of those boxes, and the chicken scratch on my grid paper made no sense without wine!!!! Well I finally figured it out and completed the rest of my boxes…here they are:
I hope you liked my boxes…now don't forget to come back tomorrow and enter in my sketch challenge! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Saturday friends! Only one more day until it's back to the old routine, so I'm trying to fit in every last minute of stamping this weekend! My poor hubby is sick in bed with the flu, so I'm just hiding out in my stamping room for the day. I created this box for the "3d something" over at the Stamp Something challenge blog.
I've been thinking of other uses for the new Stampin' Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label die from Sizzix, besides just the basic card…well I hope you like this cute little box I came up with! I designed this box last night, and I'm going to try and use my son's new video recorder he got for Christmas and make a little video tutorial…we'll see how that goes! I'm sure it will be sooo much easier once I get the hang of it, instead of taking 20 something pictures, editing them, writing descriptions of each step…you'll be able to just follow along!
I added the m&m's and marker so you can get an idea of the size of this box…I'm guessing it's very deceiving, since I'm sure the picture is waayyy bigger than the box is in real life! The box-top is 2" square if that helps.
So here's another picture of the box open, and stay tuned, hopefully I'll have a video to share with you in the next couple of days!
