Hi again stamping friends 🙂 Lots of stamping and coloring this month thanks to The 30 Day Coloring Challenge! Today I’m playing along with the current challenge on the Lawn Fawnatics blog, to create a scene! It was a rough day at work (aren’t they all???) so I went super simple with just some distress inks for the sky background, and I used the Home for the Holidays stamp set along with the matching die. I made a little banner with the sentiment on it, I hope it looks like it’s ruffling in the wind behind the car!
Hey there 🙂 Thanks to The 30 Day Coloring Challenge I made time to squeeze in a little coloring today! I do so much better when I’m playing along with a challenge, and today I came across the TGIF Challenges blog and joined in on their color challenge:
Good morning stamping friends! I’m so excited because today is Day 1 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge! I’ve played along a few times in the past, but this time I vowed (to myself) to join in much more often, hopefully every day! My hubby is coming home today for the weekend, so I don’t know how much coloring I will squeak in…so I was up at 6:00 this morning coloring away! Luckily I had been playing with my new Scan n Cut 2 and had lots of these sweet images from the SugarPea Designs set called Barn to be Wild all cut out and ready to go! I colored the farm animals and tractor with Copics and added a background of fun chicken wire paper from the Countryside Charm patterned paper collection. I drew some little curvy lines between the tractor and animals with a black Copic multiliner.
Okay, off to get ready for work! I feel so much better already starting out the day with a little “me” time!! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Hi stamping friends 🙂 Guess what?! The Patriots are on Thursday night football…awwww too bad I’ll have to stamp all night while Jeff watches the game 😉 I’m going to try and squeeze in as much coloring as possible before Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge ends! I will be sad to see it end. Kathy is a huge source of inspiration to so many stampers.
I love, love, love this stamp set from MFT Stamps called Knead You. OMG how sweet is this little kitty?! My niece is a huge fan of cats so I think this one will be heading her way. And bonus, it has a matching die-namics set so no fussy cutting!
Hi stamping friends 🙂 Today I’m sharing a card I made with the Flourishes set Zinnias. I heard some VERY exciting news this past weekend that Flourishes will be re-opening! Woohooo! I have long loved their stamps and was super sad when they closed, so to hear that they will be back is a dream come true! Their sets are perfect for coloring 😉 Speaking of coloring, Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge is almost over! She has been so inspirational this month with her fabulous projects. I will definitely continue to color more once the challenge is over. It truly is very relaxing after a long day at work.
I was playing with distress inks again on this one. I’m getting more comfortable with distress inks, although I still go through a LOT of watercolor paper trying to get the look I want. Sometimes I’m not happy with the finished look until it’s completely dry…which is what happened on this one. I almost threw this background away! I used Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass and Mustard Seed, and I colored the zinnias in Copics to match. I added a few sequins to add a little sparkle.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you find some time to get inky 🙂
Hey stamping friends 🙂 How are you? I hope the beginning of the work week wasn’t too rough for you. Guess what’s a great antidote to the work week blues…coloring! Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge has got me coloring again and it’s so relaxing. This time I’m inspired by the sketch over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge:
The set I used is from Clearly Besotted Stamps and is called Elegant Butterflies. Actually the purchase of this set is Kathy’s fault too (lol!), I saw this card and knew I had to have this set! I only used 3 Copic markers for this one, Y15, YR16, R27. Wow, that might be a record for me folks!
Hmmm, what to color next? I think I’m going to give my distress inks another whirl…see you next time!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 How has your weekend been? Mine has been jam packed but with lots of fun things! It started Friday when I got some very exciting stamping news I hope to get to share with you soon!
Then yesterday I got to take pictures of my sister’s kids. She’s opting out of school pictures this year so we had a photo session of our own yesterday. I don’t know what school pictures cost where you live, but it was going to cost her about $60 per child and she has 3 children! Even better, with the foliage right now we got some pretty fabulous backgrounds (much better than the standard gray of school photos). I was thrilled that she was happy with them.
Today I hung out in my stamp room most of the day…mostly because it is freeeeezing outside (high of 45 degrees today)! I’ve made several cards already (mostly for upcoming design team/blog hop commitments), and I get to do lots more stamping tonight because the Patriots game starts at 8:30. Blech. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the Patriots…if they’re in the Super Bowl, and winning (lol), but a regular season game is not my idea of great Sunday night tv 😉 Instead I will keep my country music on and color the night away 🙂
I used this oldie but goody set from Flourishes called Garden Picks. I’ll say it again, I’m so sad they went out of business and I’m still holding out hope they’ll be back one day. And of course I’m doing more coloring for Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 How are you? I’m loving Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge! Although I haven’t been able to play along and color every day, I am definitely getting more coloring in than usual. I don’t know about you, but the more coloring I do the more I want to color…we won’t tell anyone at work that I’m thinking of what I’ll color next while I’m there, right?! Lol.
I knew I definitely had to use something else from the fabulous new water droplets stamp set I got recently! Today I paired it with the MFT Stamps set called The Rainbow will Come. I thought it would be fun to have the girl in almost all grey, with rainbow water droplets. What do you think?
I colored the girl and umbrella in Copics: N0-N6. Her skin is colored with E000, E00, E11, and her hair is E33, E34, E35. The water droplets were colored in V12, V17, B21, B24, YG11, YG17, Y00, Y06, YR01, YR04, R20, R24, RV10, RV17.
Thanks so much for stopping by today:) I hope you get a chance to get inky soon!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 Oh how I needed a little stamping therapy tonight! I read an article online recently that coloring is right up there with yoga where relaxation is concerned. Yup, that’s about right for me!
I’ve been trying to join in on Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge as much as I can. We went away camping this past weekend and had a blast, but let me tell you, there were times when I wished I had packed a few Copics!
I got THE coolest stamps the other day from Designs by Ryn…how about the water droplets on this card? Okay, do you mind if I add water droplets to everything from now on?!? I also checked out her tutorial on YouTube for making them more realistic looking. Simple and effective!
