Bella Blossoms

I just love this set, called Bella Blossoms. It's such a large flower though, I felt like it needed more than just one color…and I felt like it was a good set to brush off the old pastels for! I had so much fun making this card. I started out by stamping my flower in VersaMark on Very Vanilla card stock. Then I "pounced" my different pastel colors on using sponge daubers…I started with So Saffron towards the middle, then Really Rust on the striped leaf part, then Ruby Red on the outside edge. For the leaves I used Certainly Celery, then Old Olive, then Always Artichoke on top of that.

The best tip I ever learned about using pastels was to wipe up the excess dust with a Swiffer cloth! It just does the trick. You can use your pastel eraser around your image, but I don't really have the patience for that!

For the edges of the card, I sponged VersaMark on, then used the pastels again. The ribbon is that beautiful So Saffron ribbon, which I SO hope does not retire (only 5 days til we see that list phew!!).  I put a little glitter on the dots of the flower…just the teeny tiniest amount, and I'm SO not good at refraining on the glitter! Hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!
