Because I Care

Blue-hydrangea

So sorry my posting has been a bit lacking lately! It's our last week of school (hooray!), and the days are chock full with work/school/activities/field trips/baseball games, etc. lately, so I'm having a tough time fitting everything in! I'm sooo looking forward to
the summer! My boys are at such a great age, playing baseball, enjoying
their friends, and we also like to go to the beach a LOT! We have the
best beach near us, and the boys love to skim board there, collect sand
dollars, starfish, hermit crabs (we don't bring any of them home, they
just build ponds and moats for them for the day, then we put them back
in the ocean before we leave)…and it's right next to the Cape Cod
Canal, so we see giant cargo ships and sail boats going through the
canal, and the boys often pack their ocean fishing rods and fish in the
canal…oh I can't wait!! I hope you enjoy all that summer has to offer
🙂

Anyway, back to the card…well I think I already know what my favorite new stamp set is and the new catalog hasn't even officially been released yet! You know I have a thing for watercoloring, and this hydrangea stamp is perfect for that 🙂 I almost gave up on this card, because I came up with the idea of making a "bouquet" of hydrangeas in my head…and apparently in my head there wasn't all of this tedious cutting involved lol!! But, I continued on because I really thought I would like what it turned into, and I did, so I'm happy I finished it 🙂

I used Marina Mist and Elegant Eggplant for my hydrangeas, because as I was walking the dog today I spotted the most gorgeous hydrangea bush in my neighbor's side yard, and while most of the blooms were blue, there were others that had a sort of blue/purple look to them.

I added some white gel pen to the centers, and a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I cut the flowers out and popped up the center one on dimensionals, with the other two behind as you can see below:

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
