Hey stamping friends 🙂 How are you? I hope the beginning of the work week wasn’t too rough for you. Guess what’s a great antidote to the work week blues…coloring! Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge has got me coloring again and it’s so relaxing. This time I’m inspired by the sketch over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge:
The set I used is from Clearly Besotted Stamps and is called Elegant Butterflies. Actually the purchase of this set is Kathy’s fault too (lol!), I saw this card and knew I had to have this set! I only used 3 Copic markers for this one, Y15, YR16, R27. Wow, that might be a record for me folks!
Hmmm, what to color next? I think I’m going to give my distress inks another whirl…see you next time!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 How has your weekend been? Mine has been jam packed but with lots of fun things! It started Friday when I got some very exciting stamping news I hope to get to share with you soon!
Then yesterday I got to take pictures of my sister’s kids. She’s opting out of school pictures this year so we had a photo session of our own yesterday. I don’t know what school pictures cost where you live, but it was going to cost her about $60 per child and she has 3 children! Even better, with the foliage right now we got some pretty fabulous backgrounds (much better than the standard gray of school photos). I was thrilled that she was happy with them.
Today I hung out in my stamp room most of the day…mostly because it is freeeeezing outside (high of 45 degrees today)! I’ve made several cards already (mostly for upcoming design team/blog hop commitments), and I get to do lots more stamping tonight because the Patriots game starts at 8:30. Blech. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the Patriots…if they’re in the Super Bowl, and winning (lol), but a regular season game is not my idea of great Sunday night tv 😉 Instead I will keep my country music on and color the night away 🙂
I used this oldie but goody set from Flourishes called Garden Picks. I’ll say it again, I’m so sad they went out of business and I’m still holding out hope they’ll be back one day. And of course I’m doing more coloring for Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 How are you? I’m loving Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge! Although I haven’t been able to play along and color every day, I am definitely getting more coloring in than usual. I don’t know about you, but the more coloring I do the more I want to color…we won’t tell anyone at work that I’m thinking of what I’ll color next while I’m there, right?! Lol.
I knew I definitely had to use something else from the fabulous new water droplets stamp set I got recently! Today I paired it with the MFT Stamps set called The Rainbow will Come. I thought it would be fun to have the girl in almost all grey, with rainbow water droplets. What do you think?
I colored the girl and umbrella in Copics: N0-N6. Her skin is colored with E000, E00, E11, and her hair is E33, E34, E35. The water droplets were colored in V12, V17, B21, B24, YG11, YG17, Y00, Y06, YR01, YR04, R20, R24, RV10, RV17.
Thanks so much for stopping by today:) I hope you get a chance to get inky soon!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 Oh how I needed a little stamping therapy tonight! I read an article online recently that coloring is right up there with yoga where relaxation is concerned. Yup, that’s about right for me!
I’ve been trying to join in on Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge as much as I can. We went away camping this past weekend and had a blast, but let me tell you, there were times when I wished I had packed a few Copics!
I got THE coolest stamps the other day from Designs by Ryn…how about the water droplets on this card? Okay, do you mind if I add water droplets to everything from now on?!? I also checked out her tutorial on YouTube for making them more realistic looking. Simple and effective!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 It’s time for a new challenge at The Card Concept and this week we have a photo to inspire you:
My style is clean and layered, and I was inspired to use a white pumpkin on my image with a bit of a shabby background. I used a stamp I’ve had for years, from the now closed Flourishes, but I felt like it fit this challenge and time of year pretty well, it’s called Autumn Blessings. The DSP is from a paper pad called Reunion from MME. Of course my image is colored with Copics.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have time to get inky this week, we’d love to see what you create!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 Wow this weekend has zipped by. I’ve been a busy beaver getting my new site up & running. I’ve had some scares along the way…imagine fiddling around with things you don’t know how to operate and having all 8 years of blog post photos disappear…yup, that happened. But that was last night’s crisis lol. Today I got to stamp…and color, right after I re-directed all 260 of my pins on Pinterest to my new links…hey it only took about 4 hours!!
Anyway, to the fun part having a blog, getting to share a card I made! I am joining in on Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge again today. I colored some yesterday too, but that was for a design team commitment so I can’t share just yet 🙂 I am also playing along with this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge:For my card I used the Blended Bloom stamp from Stampin’ Up!, along with some random DSP I found in my stash. Note to self, pick out DSP first, then color to match! Coloring first then finding DSP to match is NOT that easy! I colored my flower in Copics: RV000, RV14, RV81, RV83, RV85. The sentiment is from another Stampin’ Up! set called Curly Cute.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you get a chance to get inky soon!
Hey stamping friends 🙂 Oh my it’s the first of October already! Where has the time gone?! One good thing about October is it’s the beginning of Kathy’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I’ve had my eye on Kathy’s blog The Daily Marker for some time now, but have never joined in on her previous coloring challenges. Why?? Am I a little intimated by the talent and creativity that oozes out of every project she creates? Maybe…Seriously folks, today she turned a Starbucks coffee cup into the most adorable card, seriously.
But hey, you don’t get better if you don’t practice right? With Kathy’s latest coloring challenge I am looking at getting inky a LOT.
