SugarPea Designs – Mix It Up Challenge #51

Hello and Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I’ve stamped due to the hustle and bustle of the holidays. With the new year comes a fresh sense of calmness, everything throughout the holidays went off without a hitch, the house has been undecorated, and some normalcy has been restored!

What better way to be inspired to stamp but a new Mix It Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs?!? Here’s the challenge:

Don’t you love the fresh look of the inspiration photo and sketch? And how about the suggested color palette? Ooh I love it all! The best part about the Mix It Up Challenge is that you can be inspired by the photo, the sketch, or both! Today I’ve used the photo as my inspiration:

I used the Caffeine Addict stamp set for my card. This set is perfect for so many people in my life, myself included!

I used Distress Oxide and Distress inks (Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Gathered Twigs, Ground Espresso) to create the background paper, then cut it using the Birthday Journal Card and Card Front Element Builder SugarCuts. I added a piece of transparency behind the distressed card stock, then added some aqua colored sequins before adhering the card base. The Coffee To Go Cup SugarCuts were used to create the coffee cup.

I hope you’ll make some time to play along with us this month! We always love to see what you create, plus, there’s a $50 shopping spree for the SugarPea Designs online store to be won!

SugarPea Designs ~ Mix It Up Challenge #50

Hey stamping friends! It’s time for a new Mix It Up Challenge at SugarPea Designs, and I just love this month’s inspiration so much! Check this out:

How much fun is this inspiration photo? I love that the Knit Wit set fits this challenge perfectly. I took the challenge quite literally and turned the balls of yarn from the Knit Wit set into ornaments. Any knitter will appreciate this kind of Christmas card right? There’s also a SugarCut set to cut the images from the Knit Wit set out perfectly, so it makes this card super easy. I simply drew on the strings and bows and added a little bling.

It’s hard to believe we’re less than three weeks away from Christmas! I hope in the hustle and bustle of the season you’ll find some time to make a card and join us, we love to see what you create! Plus, there’s a chance to win a prize and everyone loves free stamping goodies!

Here are the supplies I used:

Stamps: Knit Wit

SugarCut Dies: Knit Wit

MFT Stamps ~ The Birthday Project

Hi there! I’m super excited because today is the first day of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and I am going for it this time! As many of you know, my husband works on Long Island so we only get to see each other on weekends. This means I won’t be coloring on the weekends, but during the week I am on it! I’ve been feeling like my crafty mojo has been MIA lately, so this is the perfect way to jump start it again!

I saw the Birthday Project Challenge at MFT Stamps and thought this would be a fun place to start! I adore the Pure Innocence collection and love coloring these little cuties. The one I used here is called Happy Banner, but I don’t believe it’s available anymore. I used patterned paper from the Subtle Plaids 6×6 Paper Pack to paper piece her dress and bow, and colored the rest with Copics.

I created a bag out of designer paper, the bag is 4-1/2″ wide x 5″ tall x 2″ deep so it will be perfect for a little something. I added grommets so that the ribbon would not rip the designer paper when holding the bag.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you make some time to color today!

SugarPea Designs ~ Mix It Up Challenge #48

Hey stamping friends! It’s time for a new Mix It Up Challenge at SugarPea Designs:

This time I chose to focus on the sketch for my card. I love that you can choose the sketch, the inspiration photo, or both! Here are the supplies I used:

Stamps: Everyday is ChristmasFeeling Sentimental

SugarCut Dies: Card Front Element BuilderBeautiful Bauble

I love that the Everyday is Christmas set can be used for so many all occasion cards like this one!! It makes me happy to get to keep my holiday stamp sets out all year round. I colored this sweet little turtle with Copics (YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97), and the bird was colored with BG000, BG02 and BG05. I speckled on a bit of E42, E53, and E44 to create a little sandy ground for him to stand on.

Please be sure to play along with us because a. We love to see what you create, and b. There’s a prize to be won!!
