Here are the Copics I used:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, with a little R20 on her cheeks

Dress Shading & Cupcake Frosting: Y15, Y18

Hair: E31, E33, E35, E37

The Card Concept #32

Happy Wednesday stampers! It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept, and how about this inspiration photo?!?! Oh it just makes me want to go out and collect a handful of flowers and scent the whole house…if only they weren't still covered in snow lol 😉

32 (1)

I was inspired to create my clean and layered style using the flowers and vase from the photo. I found this old set by Flourishes…so sad they closed last year ;( Do you know there is another store that has stamps by Marcella Hawley, she used to design for Flourishes? It's called Power Poppy and it's perfect for those of us that enjoy lots of coloring!

The Copics I used are:

Flowers: YR61, YR65, YR68 with a little YR12 and Y35 added in to give it a more peachy tone

Vase: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15

Leaves: YG03, YG05, YG07, YG09

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you'll join us this week! Check out the gallery, there is always lots of eye candy there 🙂

The Paper Players #238

Hey stampers 🙂 Today I was trying my hand at a new-to-me technique, called Bokeh. I'm becoming more and more of a distress ink fan, and adding the bokeh technique on top of a distress ink background…oooh fun results! There are a bazillion videos on YouTube, so just pick one out and give it a try!

Here are the two card I made so far, the first one is for The Paper Players challenge, it's a tic-tac-toe challenge, and I used: Any shade of Yellow, Sequins and Polka Dots.

For the card above I used distress inks in Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, and Riper Persimmon. The sentiment is from THIS set. I stamped my sentiment in Versamark, then embossed with black embossing powder. It seems that black ink alone didn't stand out very much on the busy background. *tip: emboss before adding the bokeh technique! The embossing powder will stick all over your white dots if you do it after*

For the card above I used the same sentiment stamp, but the distress inks I used on this one are Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn. I added some Sprinkles from the Swimming Pool and Blue Jean assortment packs.

I'm off to make this week's card for The Card Concept, see you soon and thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday Sketch 261

Hey stampers 🙂 Today I'm playing along with this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge, here's the sketch:

For my card I used the Tiny Treats Birthday set from Papertrey Ink, along with Teeny Tiny Wishes from SU!. The designer paper came from the Bundle of Joy: A New Addition pad I picked up from Simon Says Stamp. I used Sno Cone ink and card stock from MFT Stamps, and I'm not sure about the pink, but it's from SU! (maybe Blushing Bride?).

I colored the sweet little elephant in Copics: R20, R30, R32, and the star on his bottom is BG11, BG13.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Card Concept #31 {Cupcakes}

Hey stampers! It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept, and this week we are making ANY type of card based on what we draw from the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the swirly frosting and lacy background. I used the Sweet BD Wishes from MFT Stamps, along with their Open Scallop Doily Die-namics. The card stock colors are Melon Mambo from SU!Black Licorice from MFT Stamps, and X-Press It Blending Card for the white. I colored my cupcake with the following Copics: RV10, RV11, RV13, RV13, and added a blue highlight around it with BG0000& BG000.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you'll join us this week!

The Challenge #27

Hey stampers! Today I'm playing along with The Challenge, and I chose to use both the sketch and the colors:

27 (1)

I thought this fun bunny image would be perfect for the color portion, he came from the Smiley Happy Critter Crew Set Three from Your Next Stamp. I loved the sentiment too!

I colored my bunny with Copics in N0, N2, N3, then N4, N6, N9  for the nose, and finally RV10, RV11, RV13. I did a little highlight around him I'm not sure you can see in the picture, but I used RV0000, RV000.

Sparkle and Shine/Curtain Call/Retro Sketches

Hey stampers 🙂 Today I'm playing along with three challenges with one St. Patrick's Day card. I don't know that I've ever made a St. Patrick's Day card, but I spotted this stamp that I've had for years in my stash and wondered why I haven't used it before. Catchy greeting for sure!

I got my sketch from Retro Sketches:

And I got my theme from a new challenge called Sparkle and Shine, and also Curtain Call:

Sweet Sunday Sketch & MFT Stamps Color Challenge

Hey stampers 🙂 I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! I'm sad for it to end but it has been chock full of family time so it's all good. Today I'm playing along with two challenges, Sweet Sunday Sketch and MFT Stamps' Color Challenge.

For the Sweet Sunday Sketch, the challenge was to use any previous sketch…ooh I love them all it was so hard to choose! I finally decided on this one:

The MFT Stamps color challenge is the following:

Colors 16

Okay I have to be honest here, I looked at the colors, picked out my DSP and made my card, then read the names…I seriously thought it looked like a cornflower blue color before I read lavender. Oops, my bad! And, I left out green. The opposite side of the flag DSP has circles in all colors on it, and I didn't think about the color challenge when I decided to flip it over! Boy, I'm batting a thousand today! In any event, it was fun to play along lol.

I used MFT Stamps Pure Innocence Giraffe Girl, along with DSP from the Doodlebug Designs Snips & Snails pad. I colored my image with the following Copics:

Giraffe: E31, E33, E35, E37, Y11, Y21, E30

Hair: E31, E33, E35, E37

Skin: E000, E00, E11 with R20 for cheeks

Outfit: B21, B23, B24

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Deconstructed Sketch #191

Hey stampers 🙂 For today's card I stopped by Jen's blog to check out her latest sketch challenge:

I was excited to give this one a try, because I got some fun new stamps from Your Next Stamp that I thought would work perfectly with this sketch. The set is called Silly Monsters. I also had the perfect DSP from Doodlebug Designs called Hip Hip Hooray, with monsters all over it. Ok, first of all, *woah* this card turned out way brighter than I planned lol! But hey, monsters aren't dull are they?!? I do have a certain little soon-to-be five year old nephew in mind for this card though :

I colored in my monster with Copics, of course. Here are the colors I used:

Body: YG01, YG03, YG05, YG07

Eyes/Dots: Y13, Y15, Y17

Horns: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG18

Tongue: YR02, YR04, YR07

Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Paper Players {Spring} & Sweet Sunday Sketch #258

Hey stampers! Today I stopped by to see what the gals from The Paper Players were up to, and lo and behold they are having a spring themed challenge this time, yippee! Just the thought of spring is making me giddy with all this snow on the ground. Seriously. Today I went out at lunch time and couldn't believe how happy I was that it was 40 degrees out!

From there I hopped over to Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch to see what's up for this week, and her sketch fit my spring themed idea perfectly! Yes, it's my second card today using the new Spring Tulips set from MFT Stamps, between the matching die and getting to use Copics, I can't get enough of this new set 😉

I colored my tulips with Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, and the leaves/stems with YG01, YG03, YG05, YG07. The DSP is from Doodlebug Designs Snips & Snails.
